Movement or Museum

At the recent Acts 29 Raleigh Bootcamp Ps Mark Driscoll commented that the 'normal' lifecycle for movements is :
Movement -> Organisation -> Institution -> Museum.

Once a movement moves beyond organising to serve the mission and becomes institutionalised it's entering the stage of 'self parasiting' where the institution begins to live at the expense of the movement. The next natural step is to become a museum which glories in the institution and largely ignores the mission which launched the movement.
